Daycare

Yesterday was Ethan's first (half)day at daycare and my first (half)day in the office... it was TOUGH, but we made it and today was much better!  Yesterday he (and I) cried most of the morning, but the teacher did say he smiled at one little boy that crawled over to look at him.  Today they told us he did much better and only cried when he was tired.  They are picking up on the things he likes and already figured out he really likes to suck on his hands/thumb.  When we got there to pick him up today he was hanging out on a boppy pillow on the floor and a little girl was sitting next to him just watching him!  I wish I had taken a picture of that!!!  :)

Thank you to everyone who sent us kind words of encouragement to get us through this challenging adjustment.  I know it will get easier eventually but keep the positive thoughts coming in the meantime!

Our SPECIAL Valentine!

We celebrated Valentine's Day at home with heart shaped pizzas, heart shaped brownies, and assorted chocolates... YUM!  Ethan got his Mommy a valentine card and even got a few valentines himself.  Troy surprised me with a voucher for the spa... and I can not wait to use it!!!  :)

4 Month Stats

Ethan had his 4 month doctor visit yesterday and he is growing leaps and bounds.  Dr. Travis said he is looking chubby so he is doing great!  Here are his latest stats:

Weight: 14 lbs (exactly)- 25 percentile
Height: 23 1/4 in - 5 percentile (he isn't destined to be a tall one!)

He got two shots and took them like a man!  They upped his reflux medicine again and we are hoping that will give the little guy (and us) some relief.  We will re-evaluate how the new dosage is working at the end of the week.  If he is still uncomfortable we will likely change medications or add a second one to what he is already taking.

Over the next 2 months we will continue to work on his sleep habits and start introducing some solids.  He is so strong and loves to stand up (with help of course)!  He is rolling from tummy to back when he feels like it and likes to suck his thumb- never did take an interest in a paci.  He has also found his voice and likes to make all kinds of funny noises/squeals/giggles! We are also transitioning into 6 month clothes now... what a BIG boy!  Here is a random picture of our sweetie from a few weeks ago since no blog post is complete without a picture...

Ethan's first day at day care will be this Wednesday... please send us lots of positive thoughts!!!

4 Months Old

Today Ethan is 4 months old and getting SO BIG!  Last week he weighed in at 13 lbs 5.5 oz.  Here are a few pictures of the little guy today...

Matus Family Christmas

Last weekend we went to Spring to celebrate Christmas with the Matus family.  Julie and Wes hosted a nice get together with some extended family and Ethan was able to meet for the first time, his Uncle Ben, cousins Dominik and Anthony, Troy's cousin Janice and Uncle Jake and also Troy's Uncle Wayne.  Unfortunately Ethan was not the happiest baby on the block so Troy, Dominik and Anthony opened Ethan's Christmas presents while Janice consoled Mr. Fussy Britches :)

The nephews were so excited to meet their new cousin!  They both held him and entertained him with his toys... they even had to come over on Sunday before we left to hold baby Ethan one more time! We missed Aunt Lynette and Uncle Schon and hope to see y'all soon.

Splish Splash!

Bath time is SO much fun these days!  Ethan loves the water and has learned how to kick his feet and splash the water.  Even if he is fussy, he turns into a happy little fellow when we put him in the bath!  It's one of my favorite parts of our day!
