In honor of Earth Week...

The daycare is having a Recycled Fashion Show today.  Ethan and I made him a paper sack vest and a tissue paper bow tie.  He is looking so dapper... and has many expressions to summarize his enthusiasm!

18 Months already!!!

Ethan went for his 18 month well check a couple weeks back and he weighed in at 24 lbs. 8 oz and measured 30.5 inches tall!  Our sweet boy definitely had a growth spurt... he grew 2 whole inches since his 15 month visit, but gained just half a pound.  He is looking so "mature" these days!!!  Our little guy is definitely growing TOO FAST!

His favorite things to do these days:  Read books, climb on everything, play outside (swing, slide, collect rocks, play in the sandbox), chase and hug Molly, roll/throw/kick balls, race cars, watch tractors, and push ride-on toys.

He loves to eat: Chicken pot pie, quesadillas, eggs, cottage cheese, blueberries, strawberries, oranges, oatmeal, bananas, cheese, green smoothie, and cheddar bunnies.  He still doesn't drink much milk and sweet potatoes are the only veggie he will eat that isn't hidden... and he now hates meatloaf.

Challenges: Throwing everything... not just food anymore, eating veggies, and the dreaded tantrums!

His language is really ramping up as well.  He is learning animals (bear, dog, bird, duck, monkey...) and animal sounds (ba, moo, neigh..), some colors (blue, purple orange), favorite foods (eggs, oatmeal, cheese, berries, oranges).  He has manners now too!  He can sign "please" and "thank you"!

Hippity Hoppity Happy Easter

Warning:  There are LOTS of pictures in this post!  Instead of creating 3 different posts, I am just consolidating all the Easter activities into one.

Ethan had lots and lots of fun hunting eggs this Easter, and he even saw a REAL Easter bunny in our yard and said "buh-ee"!  Sweet boy :)

The weekend before Easter, we went with our neighbors Daryl and Micah to the neighborhood Easter party.  It was soooo cold and windy that day though, so we were there just long enough for the egg hunt.

Then we took him up to school on the Thursday before Easter so that he could participate in the Easter egg hunt there with his little playmates.  He dominated that one since he had already had some practice I guess!  (They divided up the eggs evenly afterwards though, so even the little girl stealing Ethan's eggs didn't get ahead.)  It was so fun seeing Ethan interact with his other little friends there, and especially with his favorite little girlfriend Olivia!

Mom and Cliff came to visit for Easter weekend and we went to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center on Saturday.  It was a nice day and we all enjoyed the beautiful flowers.  Ethan was awake all of about 20 minutes, but fortunately we got some bluebonnet photos before he conked out :)

On Easter Sunday we of course had our own little egg hunt and little buddy played in his new sandbox which he LOVES!!!  He has to play in there every day now! 

One + Half

Today our little buddy is 18 months old... 1 1/2!  CRAZINESS I tell you :)

Here are a couple pictures we captured of him today- he was not too cooperative!  Tomorrow we will have some family pictures taken and next Tuesday Ethan has his 18 month well check so we will get his stats.  I think he might finally be taller!!!  When I post the update from his doctor, I will include an overview of what he is up to these days and his likes and dislikes... I just don't have the time to run through it all right tonight.

I also owe you all several Easter posts and some bluebonnet pictures which I will get to sooner or later, hopefully the former!  XOXOX
