Sweet Saturday

We spent the afternoon today at Sweet Berry Farm in Marble Falls and enjoyed the crisp sunny weather!  It was such a great time!!!  We had a picnic, painted a pumpkin, fed some goats, pet a donkey and a horse, took a hayride, and picked some flowers.  Ethan had a great time... sweet boy loves to be outside!  He didn't even fuss about wearing his eskimo hat (which got him many compliments by the way!)  I think this will definitely be a fall family tradition for us.

Birthday Photo Shoot

On Ethan's birthday we did a family photo shoot and did some cake smash pictures as well.  They are in an online gallery now if you want to check them out... I think they will only be up for a week or so.

They are absolutely ADORABLE!!!  Big thanks to Lisa Woods... she never disappoints!  Also, thanks to Krissy's Cakes for the fabulous smash cake!

12 Months

Last Friday Ethan had his 12 month check-up.  He weighed in at 20 lbs. 10.5 oz and 27.25 inches long.  That is still around the 20% for weight and 1% for height.  He had lost a little more than a pound the week before with a stomach virus so he was a bit lighter than he would've been otherwise.  Poor little guy had to get 4 shots and a toe prick to check his iron.  He actually had to get 2 toe pricks because his iron reading came back low and they wanted to check it again :(  The second test also indicated he was iron deficient which is why they sent us to the lab I blogged about in my earlier pumpkin post.

What is our little one year old up to these days?  Well, he isn't walking yet but he gets around just fine by crawling.  In the last week or so he has been letting go of his support items and balancing for a few seconds, I keep thinking he is going to just take off one of these times!  He love bath time again, so that is a big success!  He likes to stand in the tub though... only sits long enough to pick up a new toy, and he likes to put his water visor on Daddy.  He is eating all table foods now, so we truly enjoy family dinners which is nice.  He will eat most anything if it is tossed in tomato paste or pasta sauce, but doesn't like tomatos.  I swear he thinks he is a dog now too!  He loves to play in Molly's crate, open/close the dog door flap, and carry small items around in his mouth.  One of his favorite things to do right now is pull things out of cabinets or off of shelves... books, foil, plastic cups, etc, etc.  At daycare he is sleeping on a mat, which I never imaged possible.  They even tell us he crawls over and tries to get on his friend's mat if they haven't put his down yet.  Our biggest struggle right now is drinking milk from a cup!

Lil Punkin

Today we took off since it is Columbus Day and the daycare was closed.  This morning was a bust because we had to take Ethan to get blood drawn to test his iron and they pricked him in both arms and could not get to a vein.  We decided after the second try that was enough for today.  I called the pediatrician and they are going to start him on iron therapy based on the results from the toe prick they did in their office last week.  We will have to take him to get a full lab work up in 30 days but they recommended a pediatric lab, so hopefully that will be a more successful endeavor.

To make-up for the not so fun morning, we went to the pumpkin patch at the church up the road this afternoon, then out to dinner and to get some yogurt!  Little Ethan had fun playing with the pumpkins and we picked out two big ones for Mommy and Daddy and two little ones for Ethan and Molly for our front porch.  Then we shared a little bit of pumpkin yogurt!

September Catch Up

Ethan? Puppy? Maybe!  He has seen Molly go thru the dog door enough times to peak his interest... he likes to lift the flap and look out, tried to chew on it and will inevitably try to go thru it soon.  Silly boy!

We also got him his own splash pool, but honestly he would rather splash the water in the chairs outside!  Its the simple things in life for sure... love this sweetie!

That's all for now!  More to come later.... :)

First Steps Classroom

Today was Ethan's first official day in the First Steps classroom at school (12 to 18 months).  He had a rough start to the day both at home and school, but they said he he was happy by lunch time and did really good all afternoon.  He even napped on a floor mat with the other kids!  In his new classroom he gets to go to the gym (which he apparently doesn't like yet... too loud), eat at a table and will be perfecting his abilities to drink from a cup.  He also must wear shoes.  Big changes for this little guy!

He took his very first teachers some thank you presents and leftover owl cupcakes today and we took a few parting photos.  We will miss them dearly!

Ethan and Ms. Sara
She is always there when he gets there bright and early at 6:45!

Ms. Jean and Ms. Kristy with Ethan
Ms. Kristy is the lead teacher in the infant room and we LOVE her.
Ms. Jean came to The Goddard school a few months ago, but Ethan warmed to her quickly.  She would sing to him all the time.

Today his new teacher Ms. Michelle told us that all the teachers say Ethan looks like Zac Efrom... such a little heartthrob!!! xoxo

It was a HOOT!

Thank you to everyone for helping us celebrate the little guy's first year!  It was such a great time visiting and playing with all of our friends and family.  We can not believe our sweet baby boy is almost ONE... as all of you parents know the time went by entirely too fast!  He brings us more joy than we could have ever imagined!  Happy Birthday Ethan, Mommy and Daddy love you!

When I have a lot more time, I will go through all the pictures and select some other favorites to post.  Until now, here is the best family shot of the day (at least of the pictures we took.)  If you have pictures, please share them with us using our dropbox or Shutterfly.

Thanks again, we are truly blessed!  Hugs and kisses to all :)
