Dada!

Well its official... Ethan added another word to his vocabulary!  Now he can say "ba ba" and "da da"!  I told him he must start practicing "ma ma"!  (You'll have to excuse the video... I was trying to capture the audio over the sound from the TV.)

Yummy Corn!

Monday night I was eating corn on the cob while holding Ethan and he kept trying to grab it so I let him taste it.  At first he just licked it, but wasn't too interested.  He kept trying to grab it from me though and I kept letting him try it.  At some point he decided he REALLY liked it!  We figure it must have felt good on his little gums since he is teething...

Pesky Germs!!

A little update on the health of our little guy: 

He has been battling a running nose/cough/ear infection for the last 6 weeks or so now.  Fortunately they do not seem to really bother him and his mood is for the most part is still pretty happy!  Yesterday we went to see Dr. Travis for a follow-up on his last ear infection (#2) and it looked like the antibiotic had cleared it up, however the eardrum was again red/bulging with thick fluid indicating another ear infection was in the works.  So, they went ahead and put him on another antibiotic to hopefully clear it up before it gets too painful like last time.  We will go back for a check-up on this one at the end of the month and at that time the doctor will decide whether or not he feels we should see the ENT (ears, nose, throat) specialist for tubes.  Unfortunately, it looks like he has inherited Mommy's bad Eustachian tubes :(

He also has a mild case of bronchiolitis (similar to RSV), however since this is a virus it just has to run its course.  We will be monitoring his breathing over the next few days and trying to keep him elevated to help with his cough. 

We are just ready for our sweet boy to be healthy again!

Park & Pool

A few weeks ago Ethan went to the swimming pool for the very first time!  He was none to impressed with his little turtle baby float or with the zero entry kids pool.  He did seem to like walking around in the TINY kids pool, which is separate from all the commotion of the big pool and only one foot deep.  As it turned out, I was much more excited than he was.  We haven't been back yet, but maybe he will like it better next time!

Pedal Faster

Today Ethan rode a bicycle for the very first time, we think he liked it... or at least didn't hate it!  He looked really cute in his little helmet riding around with Daddy!  My sweet boys :)

I'm 8 months!

Happy 8 month birthday to me!  Things I like right now are turning the pages of the books Mommy & Daddy read to me, saying ba-ba-ba all the time, rocking on my hands/knees, jumping in my jumperoo, playing with plastic cups, my dog Molly, watching the garage door close, touching cold things in the fridge, and swinging on the back porch.  I'm so BIG now... 18 lbs :)
